Goodearl Fabric Systems had its origins in a family owned business dating back to 3rd June 1886. The business has been operating for over 120 years and been involved in various kinds of manufacturing such as furniture manufacture from England, bedding products from the USA, and more recently fabric and sun shades and screening devices from around the globe.
The companies’ original manufacturing base was at 406 Kent Street Sydney, (an unusual address for a manufacturing facility by today’s standards), but in 1957 the manufacturing plant was moved to its present location in O’Riordan Street Mascot.
This long and colourful history lead to the present company structure in 1999, when the business culture moved away from family ownership and developed rapidly into a small to medium business enterprise. Although the Goodearl name is still involved in the day to day running of the business, new partners were brought in, capital was raised, skilled staff were employed that has lead to the business becoming the largest wholesaler of awnings and sun shades in New South Wales.
The companies success has been due in no small measure to the introduction of world class business planning, the latest manufacturing software and business structures, reducing and strengthening the product mix and securing major overseas agencies in awnings and sun shade systems.
GFS is the Australasian agents for Harol Folding Arm Awning Products and Corradi Retractable Roof and Wall enclosure systems. These products represent the very best in shading systems in state of the art products with aesthetic features and innovative designs. Along with the best awning products from around the globe GFS manufactures its own dedicated range of sunscreens known as the “Aberdeen range” which are totally Australian made and highly respected in the industry.
As a result of our hard work, increased efficiencies and the introduction of new and proven technologies and management systems, GFS is in a strong position to meet the demands of the next decade.
